I barely avoided an accident with my Austin garage doors last week. The door had been having some trouble opening and closing properly, stuttering and shaking whenever I used the remote control. One day when I opened the door, it stopped midway. I pushed on the door a little and it started to raise again.
Right after I walked under the door, it slammed back down on the ground with a loud noise. I went back into the house to see what happened, and noticed that the door chain had completely snapped. Had I been a little bit slower, the door would have slammed on my head while I was walking under it. I had been avoiding the issue for so long, but at that point, I had no choice but to get garage door repair.
There is a local company that advertises garage repair and installation on television. I gave them a call and they came over the same day to put a new chain on the garage door. The repair looked easy enough that I probably could have done it myself, but I rather have a professional do it. The last time I tried to repair something on my own, my sink wouldn't stop spraying water.
